So much for trying to blog more often. That yet again has failed! How do people write regularly, do you set aside a certain time where you will write a blog? Do you write something everyday? Would be good to know. I do really want to keep blogging but it is finding the time and the motivation to do it.
It is now the first of November so maybe try for this to be a fresh start.
Halloween has been so all the spirits are now at rest. Kat was down in Nottingham for her best mates birthday so was just me and Maia. Didn’t get upto much: a good walk and then the rugby World Cup final ( yay the All Blacks won!) finished off with X factor. Was a good Saturday.
So we have moved onto the letter C for our date night and back to me to be the lead. Was particularly looking forward to this one as Kat has been really busy recently with uni so be good to have an evening to ourselves.
The main theme for the night was Comedy for C, we were off to see Alan Davies. Because we went for dinner first that is where the cuisine comes into it.
We went to Wagamamas for dinner. Their seating style can be quite interesting with sitting people right beside each other that are complete strangers. We were basically sitting at a table for four with two complete strangers. Slightly awkward! The food doesn’t always come out together and most of the time there isn’t that much of a delay unfortunately this time mine came out a lot sooner than Kat’s. Feel bad eating when she isn’t also hers wasn’t as good as it has been. However apart from that it was a really good meal. I could eat their tori kara age all night.
We both weren’t sure what to expect of Alan Davies haven grown up with him as Jonathan Creek and on QI however never heard of him as a stand up comedian. He was great! From the minute he walked on stage to his last joke it was laughs all round.
I do love a good night of comedy, very simple in that just sitting there watching one person on stage telling jokes but great fun. Also pretty cool that have now seen Alan Davies live.
Looking forward to the D date organised by Kat.
Kat really likes to bake and I really like to eat what she bakes. Yesterday I came home to this:
Chocolate chip cookie dough brownie bombs. The centre is choc chip cookie dough wrapped in choccy brownie dipped in chocolate! They were amazing! I love Kat and her love of baking.

On Friday I had some spare time to use up in Edinburgh before getting the train back up to Aberdeen. It was around dinner time so the big question was did I go to somewhere like Costa where being on your own isn’t an unusual sight or did I go to a restaurant.
A few years ago I went to New Zealand for a month on my own so I got over the awkwardness of going into a restaurant on your own. Wouldn’t meant I would go into every restaurant on my own I was fairly selective about it however you do start to get over the fact that you think everyone is staring at you. Hadn’t done it Britain until Friday.
I decided to go for a restaurant, it wasn’t overly busy so thought wouldn’t be obvious that was just on my own. Made the correct decision as had a lovely meal and didn’t feel self conscious at all.
Ate in a restaurant called Strada and had a delicious margarita pizza with house salad and diet coke. For me I think it is important to have a good book with you so that you have something to do. Then it is just getting over the fact that you think everyone is looking at you but to do that you have to go out and try it. Obviously would rather go out for dinner with Kat but there is some times when that isn’t possible and it is good to know that there is other options.
We had another very pleasant and enjoyable date night last night.
This time we went for dinner at La Lombarda, which is Aberdeen’s oldest Italian restaurant. It was perfect: lovely little place, delicious food but of course it was the company and the chat that made it. One of the things I most lovely Continue reading
